Jayne Anne Phillips is the author of two story collections, Black Tickets and Fast Lanes, and five novels, including Machine Dreams, Shelter, Lark and Termite, and Quiet Dell. She is a Distinguished Professor of English and Director of the Rutgers-Newark MFA program.

Some folk from town or maybe a local reporter stuffed coverage in their mailbox at the end of the road.
