Gary Pilcher: Ecotones

By  |  October 1, 2012

The project Ecotones by Gary Pilcher takes the ecological transition zones of coastal Georgia as its subject matter. Most of his images depict a screen of light and color that overlay the subtle details of a landscape underneath. These photographs describe the space of the marsh and the coastal woods, but also conjure the mood of a dim and hazy morning.

Gary Pilcher is currently a student at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia. His website is currently under construction.

Jeff Rich is a photographer based in Pawleys Island, South Carolina. Jeff currently teaches photography at Coastal Carolina University. He curates the OA’s weekly photo series, Eyes on the South.
