Project: Returning

Description: For more than two hundred years, Kurney Ramsey’s family line has lived in a small farming community in eastern North Carolina on a piece of land passed down through the generations. Although he tried to break with tradition by moving away, the gravity of family pulled Ramsey to return home in time to spend the last few months of his grandmother’s life with her and with the land, when he produced the photographs in the series Returning.
