We do love us a baseball game, especially when our minor-league home team, the Arkansas Travelers, is thrashing about. What do we love about it? Let us count the ways. In fact, our editor counted up to ten in a 2004 article for the local weekly. Since that article, the names of the players have changed, and the Travs have a different stadium, but the almost Zen tranquility of watching minor-league baseball remains in place.
The Travs are affiliated with the Los Angeles Angels and play in the Double A Southern League. The first half of their current season just ended, which means a host of June, July, August, and September action awaits the zealous—and frugal (tickets are cheap). Staff enthusiasm for the Travs experience—where the hanging out can count just as much to non-fanatics as the on-field drama—is sky-high and sincere. Click here for more info.
