Today we received some upsetting news regarding the loss of one of our beloved contributors, Sean Rowe. His work was lively and hilarious, and memorable for its ruthless candor. Managing editor Carol Ann Fitzgerald recalls how enthusiastic and amenable he was during the editing process. He was last featured in our pages in the Best of the South 2009 issue (#65), though he's probably best remembered for his piece "An Insider's Guide to Jailhouse Cuisine" from Best of the South 2008 (#61), which was later anthologized in The Best Creative Nonfiction Volume 3. 

Chuck Strouse at the Miami New Times provides a warm commemoration on his blog where he describes how Rowe "charmed the globe."
