I don't know much about Patrick Xavier but he's spent a lot of time (with his stoic pooch) in Louisiana, Florida, and Texas. There are many folders of images on his website and they're largely unedited, but it's worth poking around here. Apparently, he's been involved with the rebuilding efforts in Louisiana since Katrina. An engaged observer, he has a series of photos of the sugar industry in Okeechobee, Florida, that are lovely and disturbing.
