EYES ON THE SOUTH: Carson Sanders
In this series, Carson Sanders documents Bush & Barnes Barber Shop in Savannah, Georgia. Sanders not only gets his hair cut at the shop, but also uses it as a point of entry into an unfamiliar community and culture. Using a spare photographic style, Sanders captures the quiet moments of reflection among the barbers and their customers.
Carson attends the Savannah College of Art and Design. In 2011 he cofounded Aint-Bad Magazine, a fine-art quarterly, with four other photography students. Carson will graduate with a BFA in photography in spring 2013. To see more of his personal work visit his website here.
